Shadow Candy is the final evolutionary form of Shadow Cat from Five Nights at Candy's 3. He is an Easter egg in Five Nights at Candy's and Five Nights at Candy's 2, and acts as a secret final antagonist in Five Nights at Candy's Remastered. He is controlled by the spirit of Cat's Actor from the Rat and Cat Theater.

Appearance

FNaC 1/FNaC 2

His appearance is identical to Candy, with the only difference being that he has been re-colored to be a very dark shade of purple, almost black, and has eyes which resemble the Phantom Animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's 3. He also has glowing teeth, like the Shadow Animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Shadow Candy also sports five fingers on each hand.

FNaC 3

As Shadow Cat, his appearance is identical to Monster Cat, with the only difference being that he has been re-colored to be a dark purple and shares his appearance mainly with his sharpened teeth and fangs, which weren't present in the original CAT from FNaC 2. It should be noted that a 'Shadow Cat' model does not exist, and that he has only ever appeared in minigame form.

FNaC:R

Almost like in FNaC 1, he looks very identical to Candy, though he now sports an entirely purplish black color, and the end of his fingers have become claw like, with him still possessing five fingers on each hand. He can severely glitch horizontally whenever you stare at him in one of the cameras. Whether or not you use the camera lights, Shadow Candy will appear as he is. If you stare at him long enough, he will slowly fade away while a cloudy sound grows.

Behavior

FNaC 1

He will rarely appear on the Main Stage when both Candy and Cindy are gone, with him looking at you through the camera, while the decorative stars on the stage become a dark purple. He will appear at the window after some seconds go by. To make him go away, close the window door, like with Blank. Unless action is taken, he will crash the game.

FNaC 2

Shadow Candy only appears in some of the night end minigames, with his role being to guide animatronics to the end of the minigame.

FNaC 3

Shadow Candy as his first and original form, Shadow Cat, first appears in the Dreamscape minigames for Nights 3, 4, and 5. He can only be seen through his jumpscare when the player stands in the darkness for too long.

FNaC:R

He acts similarly to the way he acted in FNaC 1. However, he also appears in Night Null, which can be unlocked by going into the extras menu and zooming in on RAT's face for five seconds to activate a code that can be punched into the custom night. Afterwards, proceeding to Cam 1 will make him appear for the first time, and once the monitor is flipped down, he will spawn in the office and jumpscare the player, starting his special night.

Shadow Candy cannot actually kill the player while there is power remaining. However, every time Shadow Candy jumpscares or knocks on a closed door, battery power will be lost. In addition, if Shadow Candy manages to attack the player, he won't kill them, but he will reverse time by an hour. If the player runs out of power, Shadow Candy will instantly kill them. After beating the secret night, a teaser image for Forgotten Candy will play, and Null will be unlocked for every other night.

Minigames

Shadow Candy only appears in the minigames of FNaC 2 in the Night 6 minigames, in all three of them. In the first mini-game on this night, he starts from the primary Party Room, and the player has a objective to follow him. Shadow Candy will lure the player to the Parts & Services room, then disappear, with the technician in the room running to Old Candy (the player), with some sort of tool, presumably trying to disable him.

In the second minigame on this night, he appears on the kid's last drawing, resulting in Shadow Candy appearing in front of Blank.

In the third, and last minigame, he will guide the player into The Office, where the depressed kid sits, and after Old Candy walks over to the kid, Shadow Candy will guide you to the Main Hall 1, where a man stands, pushing the child. Old Candy will then approach the man, ending the minigame.

Trivia

• How the player summons Shadow Candy to the Office is strikingly similar to Golden Freddy in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, though, he never had a kill screen after looking at him for too long. They seem to be fended off in the same way.
• Shadow Candy is one of the only animatronics not to appear in the Extras menu, others being the Markiplier Animatronic, Dawko Marionette and Vinnie.
• He's the only animatronic not to appear in Emil's "Thank You Too!" image.
• He's also one of the only animatronics not to outright kill the player. Two others are the Markiplier Animatronic and The Penguin.
  • However, he does cause the game to crash if the player observes him for too long.
    • As confirmed in the Extras Menu of Five Nights at Candy's 3, Shadow Candy originally had a jumpscare image and a texture for being inside the player's office as opposed to appearing in the window.
• It is very likely that Shadow Candy's purpose is to be a protector since he guided Old Candy to The Office, where the sad kid was located, and Old Candy cheered him up. He also guided the player to the man punishing the child.
• The way Shadow Candy attacks the player from the right and left doors is a reference to his unused texture in FNaC 1.
• Shadow Candy has no visible relations to Shadow Cat from Five Nights at Candy's 3. However Emil Macko has stated that Shadow Candy is the Cat's soul, in his incorporeal out-of-animatronic form. He started off as a Shadow Cat, but by the first game, he had evolved into what he is now.
